About the Event

 

This IUSCA Virtual Conference 2021 will be hosted live and will feature high profile keynote presentations, along with exclusive research from the International Journal of Strength and Conditioning, and product demos by leading sport science companies.

All sign ups will have access to the live event as well as receiving links to the recordings or each session.

Brad Schoenfeld

Training for Hypertrophy: Position Stand of the IUSCA

Brad Schoenfeld, Ph.D, is an internationally renowned fitness expert and widely regarded as one of the leading authorities on body composition training. He is a lifetime drug-free bodybuilder, and has won numerous natural bodybuilding titles. Brad is a best-selling author of multiple fitness books including the seminal textbook Science and Develoment of Muscle Hypertrophy (Human Kinetics, 2016). He has published over 100 peer-reviewed research articles and is an associate professor of exercise science at Lehman College.

JB Morin

Jean-Benoit (JB) Morin is currently Professor at the Faculty of Sport Sciences of the University of Saint-Etienne. He obtained a Track & Field Coach National Diploma in 1998 and a Ph.D. in Human Locomotion and

Performance in 2004. JB’s field of research is mainly human locomotion and performance, with specific interest in running biomechanics and maximal power movements (sprint, jumps). He has published approximately 110

peer-review journal articles.

Tim Suchomel

Weightlifting Derivatives and Jump Variations for the Development of Strength and Power

Tim Suchomel is a world renouned researcher in S&C and is the Program Director for the Master of Science in Sport Physiology and Performance Coaching at Carroll University. Tim graduated from East Tennessee State University’s Sport Physiology and Performance PhD program. Before studying at ETSU, he received his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and his master’s degree in Human Performance from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Lorena Torres Ronda

Recovery and Behaviours in High Performance

Lorena has a wide educational and research background, spanning five different universities across the globe, with specializations in performance and sports science. She has authored or co-authored research on high-performance topics and has extensive experience in professional and Olympic sports. Her career has spanned the NBA, G-League, F.C. Barcelona Basketball and Handball, and the Spanish National Swimming Team. She holds a PhD in Sports Science, is a Strength and Conditioning coach, and is passionate about merging science with practical applications.

Keir Wenham-Flatt

Tactical Periodisation of High Intensity Actions in Team Sports

Keir is the founder of the Strength Coach Network and has previously worked with collegiate, professional, and international teams and athletes in several sports. This has included being the Director of Athletic Performance at William & Mary University where he led the department. As a rugby strength and conditioning coach he has worked with 7 different professional teams in four different countries. Keir has a Master’s degree in strength and conditioning, and a Bachelor’s degree in sport science.

John Wagle

High Performance Decision Support Systems

​

John Wagle is the Director of Performance Science/Player Development for the Kansas City Royals. Prior to joining the organization, he spent three years pursuing his PhD in sport physiology and performance at East Tennessee State University, which he completed in May of 2019. Wagle also holds a master’s in exercise science from Western Illinois University, an MBA from Loyola University in Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in physics from Augustana College.

Ron McKeefery

The Art of Establishing a Winning S&C Culture

Ron is Internationally recognized as a leader in the area of sports development. Ron has twice been named Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year. Prior to becoming the Assistant Athletics Director for Fresno State University, Coach McKeefery served as a Strength and Conditioning Coach at both the Professional and Collegiate level. Working with such professional organizations as the: Cincinnati Bengals (NFL), Kansas City Royals (MLB), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (NFL).

Stephen Bird

Implementing Recovery: A Framework Approach

​

Dr Stephen Bird is a world leading athletic performance influencer, leading the integration of performance science for sport’s elite. He has worked with professional sports teams and international sporting organisations attending major sporting events, including Olympic Games (2008 Beijing and 2016 Rio), Commonwealth (Basketball Scotland), Rugby League World Cup (Scotland Rugby League), and UCI Mountain Bike World Cup and World Championships (Australia and Indonesia national team). Stephen has worked with teams in the National Rugby League, National Basketball League and Women’s National Basketball League, along with High Performance Coaching and Athlete Development roles for PNG Sports Foundation, Basketball NSW and Basketball WA.
