The Level 2 Certified Strength and Conditioning Instructor® is the first major step on the S&C Practitioner Pathway and provides all the necessary prerequisites for working in the fitness or sports sector. It develops the required underlying scientific principles and teaches you how to coach them safely and effectively.

About the Level 2

Welcome to the IUSCA IQF Level 2 Certified Strength and Conditioning Instructor® course.

 

This internationally accredited and independently regulated qualification certifies foundational knowledge and competencies in strength and conditioning (S&C).

The Level 2 Certificate is the globally established industry standard for entry-level positions in S&C, making it essential for roles such as S&C Instructor, S&C Coach, Fitness Trainer, Assistant S&C Coach, and Graduate S&C Intern across over 120 countries. It also provides valuable cross-disciplinary skills and certification for Sports Coaches, Sport Scientists, Physiotherapists, and Athletic Trainers.

The online course curriculum covers in-depth topics in anatomy, physiology, psychology, biomechanics, and nutrition, alongside the scientific principles of effective program design and implementation. Through a blend of guided online learning, instructional video tutorials, and structured assessments, you'll gain a solid foundation in S&C, preparing you for real-world application.

Assessment is based on a multiple-choice exam, a case study including documented training intervention, and extensive reflective practice, ensuring you’re fully equipped to apply your learning in professional settings. The course spans approximately 128 total learning hours (TLH), including 48 guided learning hours (GLH) and an additional 80 hours of independent study and assessment.

Upon successful completion, participants will be awarded the Level 2 Certificate in Strength and Conditioning and the trademarked title of IUSCA IQF Level 2 Certified Strength and Conditioning Instructor®, qualifying you for employment in S&C, fitness, and sports settings worldwide.
