Welcome to the IUSCA IQF Level 1 Certificate in Strength and Conditioning.
This is a Free On-Demand course, designed for students, athletes, coaches, and assistant coaches interested in gaining foundational knowledge in strength and conditioning. It covers basic principles of sports science, performance enhancement, injury prevention, and the role of strength and conditioning in overall athletic development. This free course aims to provide learners with the essential skills and understanding required to pursue further education in sports performance, sport science, and strength and conditioning fields.
This course is rated at Level 1 on the International Qualification Framework IQF), which uses a rating system from 1 to 8, where Level 1 is foundational learning, and Level 8 is Doctorate level education.

Syllabus and Content
The Level 1 Certificate in Strength and Conditioning covers the fundamental principles of S&C science and coaching, giving you a solid foundation for further progression in the field.
With 20 hours of learning content, the expert developed course syllabus covers the following:
Introduction to S&C
Overview of S&C, historical background, and importance in sport, injury prevention and health
Basic Principles of Training
Adaptation, specificity, overload, progression, and introduction to periodisation
Key Movement Skills
Introduction to key movement patterns, technique and safety considerations
Developing Strength and Power
Basics of strength training and power development, equipment and environment safety
Conditioning and Endurance Training
Principles of cardiovascular fitness, methods of conditioning, integration with training
Flexibility and Mobility
Importance of mobility, stretching techniques and when to use them
Nutrition Basics for Athletes
Role of nutrition in performance and recovery, overview of macronutrients and micronutrients, hydration
Injuries and Rehabilitation
Common injuries, rehabilitation principles, designing rehab programs, return to play strategies

Basics of programme design, goal setting for athletes, monitoring and adjusting training
