About the Event

Jose Afonso, Associate Professor at the University of Porto will be taking part in a discussion on several important areas of S&C and sports performance, including the current debate around the use of 'microdosing' in S&C, and what a useful definition should be. This will include a Q&A at the end.


José Afonso is an Associate Professor with Aggregation at the Faculty of Sport of the University of Porto, Sports Training Group. He was a volleyball coach for 20 years, having won several national championships, two Coach of the Year Awards for Girls volleyball, and was Coach of Under-15 to U17 Portuguese National Teams.


He worked for 10 years as Coach Educator for the Portuguese Volleyball Federation and more recently collaborated as Coach Educator for the Portuguese Table Tennis Federation.
