IUSCA Job Board Submission and Listing Policy
This policy explains how vacancies may be submitted to the IUSCA Job Board, what information should be included, and how IUSCA reviews and presents listed roles.
The IUSCA Job Board has been developed to support transparent, proportionate, and professionally appropriate recruitment in strength and conditioning and related fields. The board is intended to benefit employers, practitioners, students, universities, and the wider international strength and conditioning community.
Eligible Roles
The IUSCA Job Board may include roles from a range of sectors, countries, and employment contexts, provided they are relevant to strength and conditioning, athletic development, performance sport, sport science, physical preparation, or closely related areas of professional practice.
Eligible roles may include, but are not limited to:
• Strength and conditioning roles
• Athletic development roles
• Physical preparation roles
• Sport science and performance support roles
• Applied coaching roles with a significant physical development component
• University strength and conditioning roles
• School, academy, club, federation, institute, and private-sector roles
• Internships, placements, graduate roles, assistant roles, practitioner roles, senior roles, lead roles, and strategic leadership roles
IUSCA may also include publicly available roles that have not been directly submitted by the employer where the role is considered relevant to the professional community.
Required Information
Employers submitting a vacancy should provide sufficient information for applicants to understand the nature, scope, and expectations of the role.
Submitted roles should normally include:
• Job title
• Employer or organisation name
• Location
• Working pattern, including full-time, part-time, casual, term-time, hybrid, or remote arrangements where applicable
• Contract type and duration
• Salary or salary range
• Closing date
• Role purpose
• Key responsibilities
• Essential qualifications
• Desirable qualifications
• Essential experience
• Desirable experience
• Reporting line or supervision arrangements
• Athlete, client, student, or participant population
• Whether the role involves programme design
• Whether the role involves line management, leadership, budgetary responsibility, or strategic responsibility
• Application process or external application link
IUSCA may request additional information where the submitted details are insufficient to classify or present the role clearly.
Salary Transparency
IUSCA strongly encourages all employers to disclose a salary or salary range when submitting a vacancy. Salary transparency supports fair recruitment, improves applicant decision-making, and helps ensure that the expectations of the role are proportionate to the employment package offered.
Where a salary is not disclosed, IUSCA may still list the role, but the listing may be marked as having insufficient salary information. Roles that do not disclose salary information will not normally be eligible for IUSCA Aligned status.
IUSCA IQF Role Classification
IUSCA may classify listed roles according to the IUSCA IQF Strength and Conditioning Practitioner framework.
This classification may be applied whether or not the employer has explicitly referenced the IQF framework within the original advert.
The purpose of classification is to provide additional professional context regarding the likely level of practice associated with the role.
Classification may consider factors such as:
• Scope of practice
• Level of autonomy
• Supervision arrangements
• Decision-making responsibility
• Required knowledge and skills
• Qualification expectations
• Experience expectations
• Athlete or client population
• Programme design responsibility
• Interdisciplinary working
• Leadership or strategic responsibility
• Expected contribution to practice
The IUSCA IQF classification is an editorial interpretation of the role based on the information available. It is intended to support transparency, role clarity, and professional development across the strength and conditioning profession.
Use of IUSCA IQF Certification Wording
IUSCA encourages employers to include appropriate reference to the IUSCA IQF Strength and Conditioning Practitioner pathway when advertising relevant roles.
Recommended wording may include:
“IUSCA IQF Level 4 Practitioner certification, or equivalent recognised professional certification.”
“IUSCA IQF Level 6 Scientific Practitioner / aISCP, or equivalent recognised professional certification.”
“IUSCA IQF Level 8 Master Practitioner / mISCP, or equivalent recognised professional certification.”
The appropriate wording will depend on the scope, seniority, autonomy, and responsibility associated with the role.
For general listing on the IUSCA Job Board, reference to IUSCA IQF certification is encouraged but not always required.
For roles seeking IUSCA Aligned status, appropriate reference to the relevant IUSCA IQF level, or equivalent recognised professional certification, will normally be required.
Listing Categories
Roles may be presented in different ways depending on the information provided and the extent to which they align with IUSCA guidance.
Listed Role
A Listed Role is a relevant vacancy included on the IUSCA Job Board.
The role may or may not have been submitted directly by the employer. IUSCA may classify the role according to the IQF framework and may provide additional contextual information where appropriate.
Reviewed Role
A Reviewed Role is a role that has been submitted with sufficient information for IUSCA to review its scope, responsibilities, requirements, and employment conditions.
Reviewed Roles may include an IUSCA IQF classification and salary or role alignment information.
IUSCA Aligned Role
An IUSCA Aligned Role is a role that meets IUSCA expectations for transparency, role clarity, proportionate recruitment, and appropriate alignment between salary, responsibilities, qualifications, experience, and practitioner autonomy.
To be considered for IUSCA Aligned status, a role should normally include:
• Clear salary or salary range
• Clear working pattern and FTE where applicable
• Clear contract type and duration
• Clear role responsibilities
• Appropriate essential and desirable criteria
• Appropriate reference to the relevant IUSCA IQF level, or equivalent recognised professional certification
• Reasonable alignment between salary, role scope, qualifications, experience, responsibility, and autonomy
• Appropriate supervision and development arrangements for early-career or developmental roles
IUSCA Aligned status should be understood as a positive recognition of appropriate role design and recruitment practice.
Editorial Review
IUSCA reserves the right to review, classify, summarise, edit, decline, or remove listings at its discretion.
This may include editing submitted text for clarity, consistency, length, formatting, or professional presentation. IUSCA will not knowingly alter the substance of an employer’s role in a way that misrepresents the original vacancy.
Where IUSCA lists a publicly available role that was not submitted directly by the employer, IUSCA may provide a summary of the role and link to the original advert rather than reproducing the full text.
IUSCA may add editorial information to listed roles, including IQF classification, salary or role alignment indicators, and contextual notes.
Roles That May Be Declined or Removed
IUSCA may decline or remove a listing where, in its judgement, the role is unsuitable for the Job Board or inconsistent with its purpose and principles.
This may include roles that:
• Are not sufficiently relevant to strength and conditioning or related professional practice
• Provide insufficient information for applicants
• Contain misleading, unclear, or inappropriate requirements
• Appear to significantly misalign salary, responsibilities, qualifications, experience, and autonomy
• Require high-level qualifications or advanced certification for an inappropriately low-paid or unsupported role
• Present unpaid or very low-paid roles with substantial professional responsibility
• Fail to provide appropriate supervision for developmental roles
• Include discriminatory, exploitative, or professionally inappropriate conditions
• Present reputational, legal, or ethical concerns
• Are no longer active or appear to be inaccurate
Declining or removing a role does not necessarily indicate a judgement on the employer as a whole. It reflects IUSCA’s assessment of the suitability of the specific listing for inclusion on the Job Board.
Employer Review and Amendments
Where a submitted role requires clarification or improvement, IUSCA may contact the employer before publication.
IUSCA may recommend changes to improve clarity, alignment, or professional appropriateness. This may include recommendations regarding salary disclosure, qualification wording, experience expectations, role scope, supervision arrangements, or reference to the relevant IUSCA IQF level.
Employers may submit amended wording for review.
Responsibility for Applications
The IUSCA Job Board provides information about employment opportunities but does not act as the employer, recruiter, or appointing body unless explicitly stated.
Applicants are responsible for reviewing the full role information, assessing suitability, and applying through the process specified by the employer.
Employers remain responsible for the accuracy of submitted information, the recruitment process, employment decisions, contractual arrangements, and compliance with relevant employment law and local regulation.
International Listings
The IUSCA Job Board may include roles from different countries and regions.
IUSCA recognises that employment law, salary expectations, professional structures, education systems, and certification requirements vary internationally. IQF classification is intended to provide a common professional reference point while recognising legitimate regional differences.
Where possible, salary and role alignment will be interpreted in relation to the relevant country, sector, and employment context.
Policy Review
IUSCA may update this policy periodically to reflect changes in the profession, employment practice, the IQF framework, salary guidance, or the operation of the Job Board.
The aim of any update will be to support transparency, professional standards, fair recruitment, and the continued development of strength and conditioning as an international profession.
