Job Summary

Design and deliver high-performance strength and conditioning for QAS High Performance Athletics and nationally categorised athletes, aligned to individual performance plans and What It Takes to Win frameworks. The coach delivers sport-specific testing, tracking and monitoring and provides timely feedback to athletes, coaches and the wider performance-support team. The post works in the daily training environment and multidisciplinary meetings, liaises with Athletics Australia and other stakeholders, and integrates services around athlete need. It also leads and mentors S&C staff, supports professional development and applied research, and carries high-level responsibility for data, equipment and national quality-assurance standards.

IUSCA IQF Classification

Level 7. The coach independently designs and delivers evidence-based physical preparation for nationally categorised athletes while leading and mentoring other S&C staff and contributing to their professional development. The role integrates testing, monitoring, multidisciplinary planning, stakeholder liaison, applied research and responsibility for national quality-assurance standards and performance data. Responsibility for the quality of other practitioners' work and complex system-level service delivery moves it beyond a solely autonomous Level 6 coaching post. The employer requires a relevant degree, ASCA Level 2 and ASCA PCAS Elite Coach; a postgraduate qualification is highly desirable rather than essential.

Associated IUSCA IQF Certification

Salary and Role Alignment

Green. The advertised salary appears appropriately aligned relative to the role's advanced technical autonomy, nationally categorised athlete population, staff mentoring, multidisciplinary integration, quality-assurance responsibility and explicit ASCA Level 2 and PCAS Elite Coach requirements. Superannuation and leave loading strengthen the overall package. Under the IUSCA IQF Role Classification & Salary Alignment methodology, this results in a Green rating.
