Job Summary

Deliver senior strength and conditioning support across Cardiff Met Sport performance programmes, including individualised programme planning and delivery, multidisciplinary collaboration, use of diagnostic and athlete-monitoring systems, input into programme planning, and guidance of placement students and graduate practitioners.

IUSCA IQF Classification

This role aligns most closely with IQF Level 6 because the practitioner leads elements of physical preparation planning and delivery, designs and reflects on individualised programmes, provides technical expertise within a multidisciplinary performance team, uses diagnostic and athlete-monitoring systems, and manages and guides placement students and graduate roles. The role demonstrates substantial autonomous scientific-practitioner responsibility, but the advert does not indicate strategic responsibility for the wider department or accountability for the decision quality of other established practitioners that would justify Level 7.

Associated IUSCA IQF Certification

IUSCA IQF Level 6 Accredited International Strength and Conditioning Practitioner (aISCP)

Salary and Role Alignment

Amber. £35,608 to £38,784 is relatively modest for a Level 6 senior university S&C role involving autonomous physical preparation planning, multidisciplinary technical responsibility, diagnostic and monitoring systems, and supervision of placement and graduate practitioners. The salary is below optimal for the scope, but not sufficiently misaligned to warrant a Red rating.

IUSCA Alignment Statement

This role has been classified by IUSCA using publicly available information at the time of review and the published IQF Role Classification & Salary Alignment methodology. The IQF classification, salary alignment assessment and associated IUSCA IQF certification represent IUSCA's assessment of the advertised role. They do not alter or replace the employer's stated qualification, certification or eligibility requirements and do not imply employer endorsement, approval of, or affiliation with IUSCA.
