Job Summary
Support the Head Coach - Strength and Conditioning in planning, coordinating and delivering Meriden School's physical-preparation programmes for individual students and teams. The role leads day-to-day coordination and delivery across school strength and conditioning programmes, contributes to strategic planning and deputises for the Head Coach when required. It also assists with recruitment, induction and supervision of casual S&C coaches, manages aspects of programme administration and facility operation, and works with school staff to support student wellbeing. The practitioner liaises with physiotherapists regarding training plans for injured students and is expected to operate independently with little direct supervision.
IUSCA IQF Classification
Level 6. The full role description shows responsibility extending beyond routine delivery: the coach supports strategic planning, leads day-to-day coordination and delivery of multiple strength and conditioning programmes, deputises for the Head Coach when required, helps recruit and supervise casual S&C coaches, liaises with physiotherapists regarding injured athletes and is expected to work independently with little direct supervision. This supports Level 6 professional accountability for a defined area of practice rather than a Level 4 assistant role. Employer certification note: ASCA Level 1 is listed, with completion of or progress towards ASCA Level 2 desirable, or ESSA accreditation. A Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science or relevant equivalent qualification is essential.
Associated IUSCA IQF Certification

IUSCA Indicative Minimum Salary Benchmark: AUD $90,000 per year plus superannuation. This benchmark reflects the Sydney employment market, the full-time school setting and the role's coordination and supervisory responsibilities while remaining below senior departmental leadership benchmarks.
