Job Summary
Design and deliver progressive, individualised strength and conditioning and health and fitness programmes for MLC students and athletes. The coach supports physical development and fundamental movement pathways and develops testing and reporting systems for movement, strength and conditioning. Programme delivery includes standardised warm-ups and cool-downs, programming software and velocity-based training technology. The role works closely with the Head of Athlete Development, the Sport Department and external medical providers to support appropriate injury-rehabilitation pathways, with a particular focus on safe and inclusive practice for young people.
IUSCA IQF Classification
Level 6. The role independently designs individualised S&C programmes, establishes testing and reporting frameworks, uses programming and velocity-based training technology, and coordinates rehabilitation pathways with external medical providers for a school athlete population. This reflects autonomous, evidence-informed programme responsibility and accountability for a defined cohort, while the Head of Athlete Development retains wider departmental leadership. The employer requires an undergraduate degree and ASCA Level 1 and/or Certificate III and Certificate IV in Fitness/Personal Training; ASCA Level 2 or above and/or CSCS are desirable. The degree requirement is consistent with Level 6, although the alternative entry accreditation wording is broader than would normally evidence full Level 6 professional capability on its own.
Associated IUSCA IQF Certification
IUSCA IQF Level 6 Accredited International Strength and Conditioning Practitioner (aISCP)
