We’re pleased to share another confirmed presentation title from our speaker line-up at the IUSCA International Conference on Strength and Conditioning, taking place at Leeds Beckett University on Friday 5th June 2026.
John Noonan will present:
Inside Formula One: Demands, Preparation and Leadership
Formula One places unique demands on athletes that extend far beyond common assumptions around driver fitness. In this session, John will explore the physical, physiological, cognitive, and environmental demands experienced across a race season, alongside practical insights into how performance coaches prepare athletes within one of the most demanding environments in sport.
The session will also examine the evolving role of the performance coach in elite motorsport, including communication, leadership, and the integration of multiple performance disciplines around the athlete. Attendees can expect applied insight from Formula One, along with lessons transferable to other high-performance settings.
John Noonan is an experienced high-performance coach and consultant working in Formula One with Oracle Red Bull Racing, supporting drivers with the physical and performance demands of the championship. He has worked across more than 15 sports, including Premier League football, rugby union and league, Winter Olympic sport, European Tour golf, and Formula racing.
